Aureo is a Brazilian black man in his early fifties who has dreamt to be a ballet dancer since his childhood. Struggling with the difficulties of a life as an immigrant for many years, he has been going on his relentless journey of self-identity and gender exploration. As he moves to Paris, he faces a new challenge: to organize the coming of a mysterious lady called Mirele.

Summer ends and a gulp of swallows gathers in order to migrate towards the South. Watching them from his window, the director Filipe Galvon searches for a way to tell his journey since 2013, from Rio's suburbs to a small French town, Tulle.

Four years after Bolsonaro's victory, Filipe Galvon returns for the first time to his suburbs of Rio still stirred by the presidential elections of 2022 and Lula’s comeback. His intimate investigation about his country’s identity evolves in retrospect with the last years he spent in Paris as part of a recent diaspora. After his first film Encantado, the director continues his Brazilian chronicle from France with Étoile.

From the election of Lula in 2002 to Bolsonaro's rise in 2018, Encantado portrays the political and social evolution in Brazil through the story of a small homonymous neighborhood in the suburbs of Rio. With other Paris-based Brazilian students, the director returns to his homeland to dive into the lives of its residents and meet key characters of country’s life, as ex-president Dilma Rousseff. A singular view of Brazil led by the first generation of working class people to study abroad.

Adèle Autin is a young writer-producer born in France.
Graduated in Literature and Sociology in Parisian school Sciences Po, she worked as a French teacher during a few years while participating in several film projects. In 2019, she started to co-write her first feature documentary, Étoile, selected by the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region commission for writing support. Since 2020, she focuses her work on writing and producing documentary and fiction projects
with emerging directors.
Filipe Galvon is a Brazilian director based in France. Born and raised on the working-class suburbs of Rio, he graduated in Journalism with the short experimental film The Pull Over, adapted from Julio Cortazar's novel No se culpe a nadie. As a poetry writer, Galvon published his first book in Brazil, Animau, in 2011. He worked as a writer-director for TV before finishing his Cinema studies at University of Paris in 2013,
when he settled down in France. As a filmmaker, he directed and collaborated on several short fiction and documentary films, such as Unquiet River and Boulevard Voltaire. Co-produced by French broadcast company Public Senat, Encantado is his first feature documentary, awarded for Best Film in Brasilia International Film Festival.
